Client: Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust
Project: Formation of a luxury camping facility
Role: Client's Representative / Project Manager
This brand new camping facility within Durrell is being constructed to appeal to appeal to a target audience of both locals and visitors to Jersey who wish to reflect their environmental objectives during their relaxation time.
The full facility will comprise three phases over a three year period. Domes will be located within the natural topography of fields in the park and will be fitted out to a luxury standard. The highly insulated structures will incorporate carpets, beds with high quality linen and a wood burning stove whilst the ancillary building will offer a small kitchenette, WC and shower. The Domes themselves will be lit by gas lamps and the wood burning stove will be used to heat any water needed.
There will be no electricity in the Dome and only one socket in the ancillary area. Located on decking surrounded by lit pathways, the structures will be positioned on the natural fall of the land with maximum privacy.
No cars will be allowed within the area and a Clubhouse with a bar and barbecue area will complete the facility.
The first Domes will be ready for occupation in Spring 2012.
