Located at Giltbrook on the outskirts of Nottingham city centre, this new-build retail park comprises 132,000 sq ft of retail space in addition to 33,000 sq ft of retail mezzanine, 85,000 sq ft of industrial units and 2350 car parking spaces, 440 of which are at basement level. Situated adjacent to flagship tenant Ikea, it was imperative that existing tenants were allowed to continue trading during the build process.
Let on a design & build basis, the contract was split into two main phases; an initial enabling contract which involved building a temporary car park, diverting a mains sewer and demolishing various buildings, followed by the main works to construct retail and industrial units plus associated car parking.
The enabling contract started in April 2007 with the main contract completing in September 2008.
